Several of us from eBay attended and presented at MIX06 in Las Vegas. We had two key announcements on Monday.
The first announcement was our launch of RSS (
) on the eBay Platform for search results. Yes, you can now finally lock down a search query and feed it into the reader of your choice. How might you find these feeds on eBay.com? Just search for an item (http://search.ebay.com/MDR-EX71) and then scroll down to the bottom of the page and look for the RSS icon in the Tools bar.
If you’re looking for a new vehicle, I suggest my personal favorite: eBay Motors RSS. We have only scratched the surface of RSS feeds for eBay. Look for more feeds in the future.

The second announcement that was made was the release of the Microsoft Live.com eBay Search Gadget. This is an open source project on the eBay codebase and it also has been posted to the Microsoft Gadget Gallery. Alan Lewis, Tim Rechin and I worked on this project during the months of February and March.

The eBay Gadget is an easy and quick way to search for eBay items in the comfort of your personalized Live.com environment. Microsoft has a great platform to leverage, we all had a lot of fun working on it. They have also announced a certification program for gadget developers on Live.com (details will come later).
Take a minute and add the eBay Gadget on Live.com by clicking the button below:
FYI: This item is in beta and we’re doing our best to get all the kinks knocked out.
We would love to hear feedback.
